So I have severe OCD but was doing very well for a couple of months.  Now I have a new self harm theme.  What kind of rumination comes with this?  I find myself thinking that this time its not OCD and I am going to jump off my balcony.  The thought has been there 24/7 for a couple of days now that I'm afraid to walk by the railing.  I guess I am looking for reassurance that this is just my OCD once again. I know reassurance is bad.  I can't seem to turn off the thought. I also have anxiety at a 10 on the scale.  What can I do?

This sounds like it is part of your same theme. First of all take a few deep breaths and remember that you did do well for a couple of months. OCD is trying to pull you in again in a slightly different way. I know it is scary to walk by the railing but if you continue to avoid doing that it will only add to the OCD thoughts and make matters worse. Like Ali says "Come from a position of power" and call OCD's bluff for what it is. Try to focus on something in your life that will keep your mind and body busy and the anxiety should reduce and you will see this incident for what it is - just another trick from OCD.  You did it before and you can do it now.

hi my ocd is not switching off hocd I’ve had it for 4 years I’ve had a good spell where I’ve felt good for a few weeks then spiralled back down this normal I’m sorting feeling numb/feel like what’s the point in me trying when I keep falling down just need a little help as I feel like I can’t talk to anybody else about it

How do you do erp for a health contamination issue such as someone who has an illness , virus or disease and does not want to spread it ? Washing hands is necessary so how do you do erp when you must wash but not excessively like is common with ocd

I am facing ocd since 6 years first it started with HIV ocd after that it changed theme to Rabies ocd. This time with rabies ocd I didn't go outside the home due to this rabies fear.

Doing good with my OCD.. really ignoring every theme.. had a rough couple of days with a lot of compulsions.. (one toke almost 3 hours).. But i got it under control, and a ignoring again. Trust yourself and keep fighting!

I dont then i get the fear that i i will unneccesarily limit my self and then o get the feeling to check something related to that so i know i wouldnt limit myself but then it means i have to avoid anything eelated and limit doing even normal things. So if i get the idea of doing something should i never do it or be like i'll just do it later and delay it?
