If anyone is interested, a great book to read for recovery is Brain Lock. It was given to me by a therapist and I absolutely loved it. It felt nice to read stories of others that made me realize I’m not crazy and alone. It’s a real mental disorder of the brain and they give great insight and tools.

Hi, im new to opening up, im really just looking for support. Does anyone else stress over their floors? I cannot cope with dirty floors. I vaccume and mop 2/3 times a week. I used to be worse but have moments where i know its not normal. I never have people over as my phobia of my floors getting dirty takes over. I always say no to people coming over.

I was on Prozac for thirty years. It gave me about ninety percent relief, but with unacceptable weight gain. I stopped the Prozac a year ago and have terrible OCD attacks again. None of the CBT or ERP methods have helped. I am begining to think I will always suffer with this horrid condition.

All the treatments for OCD amount to saying "Do not respond to the attacks". If we were able to do that, we would not have OVD

I have something similar to that. It is very hard, but you have to remember that you dont really have control over your thoughts, just over your behaviour. Ignore the thoughts and dont do the compulsions. You may consider meds to help you with your ERP.

I have cross contamination OCD (mainly fear of coming into contact with or stepping on p**p in the outside world). I once saw a disturbing scene related to p**p near a fire door escape and now everytime I walk past a fire door escape on the street, I get ocd thoughts.
