I’m sure I am right in thinking that the reason hocd enters my dreams is because I am constantly obsessed with the whole thing when I am awake right? I don’t actually know how to stop being obsessed

I act on some of my thoughts I can’t stop myself it won’t be long till I’m in a psych ward I wish I didn’t act on them but I do any tips? Would be greatly appreciated

Happens a lot. To me, its just happens bc I already feel so overloaded with thoughts only and I can’t simply process someone’s presence or information. I just need to be left alone all the time when bad days happen

These doubts are literally intrusive thoughts themself. Dont focus on as much of whats the way to know if they are intrusive thoughts or not if you are spending your entire days thinking about these thoughts and they are a constant bother to your day then its intrusive. Also if its causing a spiral or anxiety then that is a clear tell tale sign its intrusive. Just dont overthink it too much

Hi! This is classic ocd symptoms chose to disregard. Ocd can trick you into believing anything and make it feel 100% real as well.

How do you guys deal with homophobic comments? Homophobia is bad in general, but it always feels like its being directed towards me and sometimes I get doubts on whether im doing this for myself or im scared of ridicule

So i suffered from hocd and recovered and the thing is you have to just chose to not focus any attention on the thoughts of wether this homophobia or not and just use those homophobic comments as an exposure. Everytime you see one be like oh these people dont know what they are talking about disregarding and moving on with my day.

Also your ocd is just tricking you into believing its about you. This is entirely normal in hocd and chose to take a leap of faith and not give it attention

Thanks Christa ill be sure to use that as an exposure since I think that I've been avoiding homophobic people so that I wouldn't have to get thrown off track but it could actually help. I'm trying to get better at not ruminating and caving into compulsions although I just did one but atleast I identified it. Thank you

Yeah just take it as im going into a trigger and im gonna prevent my response and put my attention towards something else. You can do it i believe in you and no problem. I get how hard it is but you can recover

One thing I’ve learnt is that most of this stems from fear. What’s you begin to have full courage in yourself regarding what YOU really want in your life for yourself, these thoughts WILL not phase you. I may struggle with hocd thoughts but I am fully aware that I DO NOT and WILL NOT ever bring myself to do these thoughts because I simply do not want that for my life and instead I would rather

It’s weird because I know what you mean. I get intrusive thoughts about kissing men and sometimes in real life my lips start to quiver (probably because of my anxiety) but I have never done it and I define don’t plan to do it. I control my body
