During recovery process, is it normal that thoughts change?

Hi,

I already saw something related to this in Ali's videos (my therapist and I didn't talk about this topic yet so I decided to ask to suffers like me :))

So right now I'm dealing with Relationship OCD (it sucks actually because I love my bf so much 🙁 but I'm kinda better right now with therapy and all that). I'm having a thought that I never had before, at least that I remember, like "I don't feel the same way about him or us" and then I go and try to realize it this is true or not by looking ate him, by mentally doing compulsions and trying to figure it out etc etc, it gives me some anxiety (a lot actually) mas right now I can control it better cuz therapy. But then in my rumination it's like "see you don't feel the same, whats the point if you dont feel the same? love is ending" and then break urges and the cycle repeating itself 🙁

I know it's probably another OCD thought but because it's different it scares me, it seems real like all of them and then my ocd tells me I'm in denial just like all of them and then I do compulsions and so on e here it is the cycle, hurt pumping, wanting do cry and die and absolutely feel guilt because I do love my boyfriend so much and I do want us forever if it's possible!

I know that not feeling the same everyday in relationships is totally normal but ROCD makes it the end of the world, I still think I'm doing a great recovery job but sometimes it just crushes me and I'm afraid of losing my mind, myself and my beautiful guy 🙁

Hey!

I went through all of this, everything what you are saying. ROCD is daunting. But therapy is not enough. Different thoughts will come but it is all in your topic so that is normal. Sometimes OCD even changes topics. What you need to do is reduce rumination! Track it and keep reducing. And be patient! Do it every day. I had all your thoughts, I was so bad that I wanted to die and didn't see hope. But listening to Ali's videos, tracking time every day and daily meditation did wonders. I am so good now, I am very happy with my partner.

Understand that you must trust the process, understand OCD and how it works. And put the hard work! Also, don't give up when you get setbacks, that is normal.

You can totally do it!

Hi, thank you so much for answering me!

I replied to you a few days ago and now you've just helped me a lot. Thanks. It's good to know we're no alone and that we have more people going through the same thing and helping each other. 🙂

Hey, this is nice. I didn't know it was you! It is really comforting to know that we are not alone. Thanks again for your help a few days ago. Xx
